Chapter Philanthropy

Hey everyone, welcome to Phi Mu’s Philanthropy page! I am so excited to get to tell each and every one of you about our philanthropy, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals!
Every day CMN Hospitals across the country treat 16,200 kids with trauma, 935 kids with diabetes, 2,128 kids with cancer, 2,329 kids for surgeries, and 925 babies in the NICU. All of the money we raise here at the Theta Nu chapter is donated to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in Tampa.
Last Fall, I was elected to serve as the Chapter’s Philanthropy Chair and I have never been more excited to take on an opportunity in my life. I was so motivated to lead our chapter in touching so many kids lives and reminding everyone to live FTK every day. This past Spring, we hosted Pi a Phi on national pie day (March 14th) where people pay to pie girls in our chapter! We also hosted our annual Kicks for Kids kickball tournament had a great team turnout not only within the Greek community but from other populations on campus as well! We also dabbled in two new events called the Linus project where we made blankets for children in the hospital as well as Cheesin’ for Children, cheese related foods for a child related cause. This Fall we are ecstatic to host Bonnamu, our concert themed event as well as some new events involving fun activities like game shows and dunk tanks! Every year our members participate in FGCU’s Dance Marathon, where we spend 13.1 hours raising money for the kids non-stop. It is one of the most humbling and rewarding experiences to listen to the kids from CMN hospitals stand in front of us and tell their stories, letting us see first-hand where all of our hard work and money goes towards. As well as fundraising and hosting events for CMNH, we are also largely involved in our local community, participating in beach cleanups, donating to local hospitals and charities, and helping the homeless and underprivileged during the holidays.
I am so honored to serve as Theta Nu’s Philanthropy Chair, and I have so many ideas to grow in our abilities in benefiting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals that I can’t wait to put forth with all of you this upcoming year. My goal is to instill in others a passion of service so that we can continue helping through every way possible. I hope to plan more events and raise more money for these children then we ever have before! I want our chapter to be the best chapter it can be and to always remember who we’re doing it for.
Everything we do we do with love and we do it for the kids.
