Chapter History

Phi Mu Fraternity was founded in 1852 at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. As a national, not-for-profit Fraternity, Phi Mu assists young women in becoming better academically inclined students, stronger leaders, confident women and aspiring leaders. As the second oldest American sorority, there are more than 175,000 Phi Mu members and more than 247 nationwide chapters chartered.

Theta Nu was charted in November of 2012 at Florida Gulf Coast University. Since then we have supported our beautiful Panhellenic community and other organizations across campus. As a chapter we support our Panhellenic sisters by participating in Kappa Delta’s Shamrock Week, Chi Omega’s Swishes for Wishes, Zeta Tau Alpha’s Crown Classic, Alpha Chi Omega’s GI Alpha Chi, and Delta Delta Delta’s Dolphin Daze. Throughout the semesters we have supported our national philanthropy, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals by holding a variety of events and participating in FGCU’s annual Dance Marathon.

Our sisters maintain their strong bond by attending various events we host year round such as ice skating, retreats, visiting pumpkin patches, shaved ice bar events, and more. We are proud of our diverse members and everything they provide to our chapter.
